Your deposit accounts are insured at NMTW up to certain amounts by the NCUSIF.  NMTW also provides its members with additional deposit insurance through the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation.

The NCUSIF is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government.

The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund insures funds up to $250,000 for individual accounts.  If you have more than $250,000 you are still insured.  For accounts that have $250,000 or less, you do have full NCUSIF coverage.  These accounts include regular shares, share drafts, money market accounts, and share certificates.  IRA accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUSIF.  For joint accounts, each member who has equal rights to withdraw money from the account is insured up to $250,000.

MSIC was founded in 1961 to provide deposit insurance protection for members of credit unions.

In addition to being federally insured, The Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC) insures any amount on deposit exceeding $100,000.  Single accounts are fully insured up to $600,000 plus interest and joint accounts up to $1,200,000 plus interest.  IRA deposits that exceed $250,000 are insured for an unlimited amount by the MSIC.

For more information, visit the NCUA or MSIC websites.
