If you’re a college student, you’re anxious to make your own decisions and exert your independence. If you’re a parent, you want to know that your children are safe and financially secure while they are away from home. With our Youth Package, we offer students, at home or away, the convenience and accessibility of NMTW membership. The package provides all the tools a student needs to successfully manage their funds – savings, checking, ATM/Debit, and a credit card for just in case.

Get your first credit card at your credit union with a $500 limit. No co-signer is required as long as you have some source of income. We believe this offers you a chance to make independent choices but with a relatively low limit, you can’t charge more than you can afford to pay! Plus, the program comes with a tutorial that advises about responsible money management and the value of saving for future expenses like a car or college. Our financial education links are also a valuable resource.

If that’s not enough, fill out a transfer form so you can transfer funds between accounts. Caught short at the bookstore? Mom & Dad can transfer funds from their account to yours to cover the bill. And of course, parents, it works the other way! If your student owes you money, it can be transferred back to your account.

For those larger bills, like tuition and room and board, we also have solutions. We offer student loans and if student loans are not enough to cover the rising cost of education, we also have home equity loans and second mortgage programs to help you manage. The MEMBERS Financial Services representative is also on hand to answer your questions about financing education.

And all accounts, including your NMTW credit card, come with FREE online access through Home Banking so you can keep track of your money at a time that’s convenient for you.
